This is Amazzi, our new puppy. He is a Portugese Water Dog. We have been interested in a PWD since last summer, long before Obama wanted one. Amazzi is also much cuter than the one Obama will pick. Jonah made Amazzi feel at home on his first night be letting him snuggle during story time and reading dog stories to him.

Rafting the Nile

We got to go rafting on the Nile River. This is really a picture of this going down a class 5 rapid called the Bad Place. We came out all right, unlike the boat that went a little to the right of where we were. Rafting was incredible!

Home as a Family

We are glad to be home as a family. Jonah is an amazing big brother and he loves to play with Faith. We are excited to be starting this phase of our lives together.

Four wheels, then two

Just two weeks ago, Jonah had a major breakthrough. He began riding his two wheel bike without training wheels. We barely had to teach him anything. Piper had to tell him how to start, but he was able to just pick up the idea of riding straight away. Jonah is an incredible athlete and we are constantly amazed at what he can do.

No more thumb sucking

Jonah has given up the thumb for good. After discovering that Jonah's thumb sucking was leaving his skin so dry during the day that it was beginning to crack, we convinced Jonah that it was time to stop sucking his thumb. If we was able to stop sucking his thumb for seven days in a row we promised to buy him a scooter. He was able to stop on his first try by using band-aids on his thumb, and mittens on top, and he also gave up his blanket for a while. He now loves to scooter around the block for about a mile at a time. I will post pictures of Jonah on his new love soon.
